NEW: Koshi Earth Symphony – Four Tones of Nature

NEW: Koshi Earth Symphony – Four Tones of Nature

With the Koshi Earth Symphony, a new generation of the popular Koshi wind chimes is making its way into our store. Inspired by mountains, forests, rivers, and the sea, the series combines four distinct tones with fine woods and a particularly rich, long-lasting sound.

Unlike the classic Koshi singing bowls—Terra, Aqua, Ignis, and Aria—which feature a bamboo body and eight rods, the new models have a solid wood body and twelve hand-tuned steel rods. You can gently move them in your hand, hang them up, or incorporate them into your sound journey, meditation, or sound bath.

Four Sound Scenes: Mountain, Forest, River, and Ocean

The Earth Symphony consists of four variations, each dedicated to a force of nature:

  • Mountain – Walnut, tuned to E major
  • Forest – Oak, tuned to F-sharp major
  • River – cherry wood, tuned to G-sharp major
  • Ocean – Maple

This way, you can choose the tone that suits you and your sound practice—or combine several models to create your own little Earth Symphony.

What makes the Koshi Earth Symphony special?

Inside each chime are twelve steel bars, four of which are duplicated to serve as resonators. In combination with the solid soundbox made of walnut, oak, cherry, or maple, this produces a full, broad sound with a long sustain.

Another difference from the classic Koshi chimes is the tuning: While Terra, Aqua, Ignis, and Aria are tuned to 432 Hz, the Earth Symphony is tuned to 440 Hz.

With a diameter of 6.3 cm and a height of 16.3 cm, the wind chime remains pleasantly easy to handle.

Koshi Earth Symphony in Sound Art

We find the Earth Symphony particularly beautiful as a complement to the gong and the " singing bowl." Its bright, clear tones create an exciting contrast to the deeper, more complex sounds of a gong and are wonderful for creating transitions.

To do this, you can slowly rotate and move the wind chime in your hand. Even small movements cause the rods inside to ring, allowing you to control the intensity very intuitively. You can also use the Earth Symphony for meditation, sound baths, or quiet moments just for yourself.

Practical Tip: Earth Symphony in a Sound Bath

So you can use the Koshi Earth Symphony very effectively to createtransitions between different soundscapes during your sound bath . For example, let a gong fade out slowly and allow a brief moment of silence. Then gently move the Koshi in your hand and let the delicate tones emerge gradually.

Tip: With our Sound Bath Bowls Set You can enhance the Earth Symphony with additional subtle timbres and make your sound bath even more varied.

You can also use the sound bars to begin or end a sound bath. If you have multiple models, you can use Mountain, Forest, River, and Ocean one after another or all at once to blend different timbres together.

Less is often more. Let each individual note fully emerge and fade away in the room before adding the next one. This gives the Earth Symphony enough space to unfold its long reverberation.

Which Koshi is right for you?

Mountain, Forest, River, or Ocean? Ultimately, it comes down to your own listening experience. The different types of wood and tunings give each model its own unique character.

But you don't necessarily have to choose just one: The four options are designed to complement each other and can be combined beautifully.
