Peter Hess® Therapy singing bowls for professional sound massage
Peter Hess® Therapy singing bowls were specially developed for sound massage and sound therapy. Each bowl has a defined frequency spectrum tailored to specific body areas. For example, there's the universal bowl for the entire body and reflex zones, the heart bowl for the chest area, the pelvic bowl for the lower back, and the head bowl for the head and neck area. This specific assignment allows for targeted application, where the vibrations work precisely where they are needed.
The sound responds sensitively to your playing. With small, hard mallets, you create bright, dominant overtones that are ideal for attracting attention and signaling. Thicker, soft mallets produce deep, resonant frequencies that are not just heard but felt throughout the body. You have control over the character of the treatment.
Sound Bath Bowls for sound baths, meditation, and sound journeys
Not every singing bowl is intended for body work. Our Sound Bath Bowls are designed to resonate within a space. They create harmonious soundscapes that musically accompany meditation, guided imagery, and sound baths. These bowls are not placed on the body; instead, their effect unfolds through the sound in the room. This makes them ideal for yoga studios, seminars, schools, and, of course, for your personal sound ritual at home.
Hand-forged from high-quality bronze alloy
The singing bowls in our range are forged from a cast blank. This process is more elaborate than mass production, but it ensures that the singing bowl vibrates much longer and more evenly. Only pure, high-quality metals are used. The high tin content in the bronze alloy is crucial for the warm, sustained sound. With other manufacturers, tin is often replaced by cheaper metals, which noticeably diminishes the sound.
Bowls that do not meet our quality standards are sorted out during production. We exclusively offer premium quality – no compromises on sound.
The right mallet makes all the difference
The sound of your singing bowl largely depends on the mallet used. With a hard mallet, you create bright, signaling overtones. With a soft mallet, deep, resonant frequencies are produced that can be felt throughout the body. Our gong mallets and beaters are handcrafted in Germany by Olli and his team. They are made from sustainable materials like natural caoutchouc and wellness fleece, producing a clear, undisturbed sound without striking noises. You can find out which mallets can be combined with which singing bowls in the respective product descriptions.
Difference between a singing bowl and a gong
Both singing bowls and gongs create fascinating soundscapes, but they address different needs. Singing bowls are placed directly on the body or held in the hand. Their vibrations have a targeted and palpable effect on individual body areas. Gongs, on the other hand, fill the entire room with sound, creating an immersive sound experience. Many sound healers and sound therapists combine both. In our shop, you'll find singing bowls, gongs, gong mallets, and friction mallets – all from a single source, with personal advice.
