Which double-sided gong mallet should I buy?

The collection includes three models. The J.O.-70 is the all-rounder: one side features a classic mallet head, while the other side has a white felt ball at the end of the handle—giving you two completely different sound characteristics in a single mallet. The CH-1 J.O. and the CH-2 J.O. are the double-sided variants from the Chakra series, attuned to the crown chakra and the throat chakra.

What makes a double-ended gong mallet special?

A standard gong mallet has one head. A double-sided gong mallet has two. It sounds simple, but it fundamentally changes your sonic journey. You can seamlessly switch between two different sound characteristics within a single session without putting the mallet down and picking up another one. This gives you more flexibility, more dynamics, and more expressiveness in your playing.

The J.O.-70: Classic Head Meets Felt Ball

The Profi Gong Mallet J.O.-70 is the centerpiece of this collection. On one side is the familiar, round mallet head made of natural caoutchouc a wellness fleece covering—on the other side, a white felt ball at the end of the handle. The felt ball produces a significantly brighter, softer sound and opens up the gong’s overtones in a completely different way than the main head.

Weighing just 105 grams, the J.O.-70 feels light in the hand and is particularly well-suited for longer sessions and subtle, nuanced sound design. Available in 19 colors—from classic black to terracotta, forest, and mustard.

The J.O. Chakra Mallets: double-sided for energy work

The CH-1 J.O. and the CH-2 J.O. are the double-sided versions from the Chakra series. The CH-1 J.O. is aligned with the crown chakra—the seventh energy center at the top of the head, which connects the body to the universal energy of the cosmos. The CH-2 J.O. supports work on the throat chakra and promotes clarity, communication, and expression.

Thanks to their double-sided design, both models offer even more ways to target specific energy centers and gently release blockages.

The core is made of soft natural caoutchouc, which ensures a quiet striking sound and a full, round tone. The cover made of Oeko-Tex-certified wellness fleece gives the sound its warmth and depth. The handle, made of organically waxed beech, is ergonomically shaped and remains comfortable in the hand even after long sessions.

They are crafted in small family-run workshops in Germany, not mass-produced in the Far East.

Double-ended mallets for gongs and singing bowls

Our double-ended mallets don't stop at the rim of the gong. They are just as excellent for working with singing bowls. The J.O.-70, in particular, with its soft felt ball side, produces a gentle, resonant tone on the universal bowl, making it ideal for sound massages and meditative practices.
