Many of the most beautiful moments in the history of ollihess and our sound work are not created just by playing an instrument – but through what grows between people: conversations, shared experiences, and common paths.
With our new ollihess podcast format on our YouTube channel, we are creating another space for exactly that. A space for conversations about gongs, sound work, and what connects us as a community through sound.
Together with companions, close friends of Olli, and inspiring personalities from the world of sound, we dive deeper – into experiences, visions, and real-life stories from practice.
The Launch: Olli in conversation with Broder Oetken
To kick off our podcast, Olli speaks with Broder Oetken, the founder of Oetken Gongs manufactory. Broder is one of the most influential gong makers of our time – and for Olli, he has long been more than just a business partner.
The two met in 2011 at the Musikmesse. An initial exchange about sound blossomed into a friendship that continues to this day – and a collaboration shaped by trust, experience, and shared passion. Together, they develop gongs that open up new soundscapes.
In this first episode, Olli and Broder talk about:
- their shared journey,
- their passion for sound,
- what can emerge when craftsmanship and friendship come together.
Our podcast is an invitation: to listen, to reflect, and to be inspired. Sit back and immerse yourself in a conversation about sound, encounters, and shared visions.
Whether you hold sound spaces yourself, work with gongs, or are simply curious about the world of sound – we would be delighted if you follow us on the ollihess YouTube channel and become part of this journey.
Because in the end, that's exactly what makes sound so special: It connects.
