Sound thrives on exchange – our new ollihess podcast format

Many of the most beautiful moments in the history of ollihess and our sound work arise not only from playing an instrument, but also from what grows between people: conversations, shared experiences, and shared paths.

With our new ollihess podcast format on our YouTube channel, we are opening up another space for precisely this purpose. A space for conversations about gongs, sound work, and what connects us as a community through sound.

Together with companions, close friends of Olli, and inspiring personalities from the world of sound, we delve deeper into experiences, visions, and real stories from practice.

The kickoff: Olli in conversation with Broder Oetken

To kick off our podcast, Olli talks to Broder Oetken, founder of the Oetken Gongs workshop. Broder is one of the most influential gong makers of our time—and has long been more than just a business partner to Olli.

The two met in 2011 at the Musikmesse trade fair. An initial exchange about sound led to a friendship that continues to this day—and a collaboration characterized by trust, experience, and shared passion. Together, they develop gongs that open up new soundscapes.

In this first episode, Olli and Broder talk about:

  • their shared path,
  • their passion for sound,
  • What can happen when craftsmanship and friendship come together.

Our podcast is an invitation: to listen, to think along, and to be inspired. Sit back and immerse yourself in a conversation about sound, encounters, and shared visions.

Whether you hold sound spaces yourself, work with gongs, or are simply curious about the world of sound, we would be delighted if you followed us on the ollihess YouTube channel and became part of this journey.

Because ultimately, that is precisely what makes sound so special: it connects people.
