That's How the 2026 Gong Symposium Went

We are incredibly grateful that we were able to attend the 2026 Gong Symposium and play such an active role in it. We’ve just experienced three incredibly diverse and inspiring days filled with sound, encounters, and a shared passion for gongs and sound work.

It was especially nice for us to see so many familiar faces again and, at the same time, to meet so many new people. It’s precisely this exchange among equals and these genuine encounters that make events like this so special to us: Here, we meet people who are open-minded, curious, and eager to learn from one another.

Fun and Inspiration During a Conversation with Gong Maker Broder Oetken

Another highlight for us was the joint discussion with bell maker Broder Oetken.

Olli and Broder shared some behind-the-scenes stories, talked about their shared history, and gave you a deeper insight into the world of gongs and mallets. They didn’t just talk about craftsmanship and sound, but also about the many little and big things that make up our daily work.

We were able to learn a lot from you once again

We were especially pleased to have this direct exchange with the Klang community. You told us what you love about our products, which mallets have been with you for years, and which sounds move you. At the same time, you also showed us where questions arise and where we can improve even further.

One topic that came up, for example, was the buildup of grime on gong scrapers and mallets. Together, we were able to discuss what causes this, how to prevent it, and what proper care for gong mallets and scrapers entails.

Your openness and these very conversations are incredibly valuable to us. Your experiences help us further develop our products and better meet your needs.

We take your wishes to heart

Once again, we've listened very carefully to what you'd like to see from us. Some of these ideas have been on our minds for a while, while others are brand new. What we can say right now is this: We take your suggestions seriously and are already working on implementing some of them.

Gratitude for this special gathering

In addition to all the conversations, talks, workshops, and music, we returned home filled with a sense of gratitude. We had an inspiring and enriching time with you all.

We're really looking forward to the next Gong Symposium!
