I love Ollihess mallets. I've been playing gongs for 15 years and also teach people how to play. These are currently my mallet of choice for my sound bath performances, and I also recommend these to all of my students. The density of the mallet heads really bring out the wide range of sounds in the gongs, without the sound of the mallet getting in the way. I love how the larger mallets bring out a nice deep sound on medium to large gongs, and the smaller mallets highlight the higher overtones in all size gongs.

Mallet by Ollihess and its meaning for me: Paint it. Picasso had his brush. I have all of Olli's mallets. I use them to create sounds, also from his special gongs such as Wega and Sadja in 40". There are 27 other gongs from Oetken and Meinl from China hanging in the sound room. His mallets are used to create landscapes and experiences. Even an inexperienced gong player can usually tell the difference. A good mallet should nestle in the hand and become a connection with the sound worker's arm. The weight is also important. Everything is given here. A perfect unit. May the sound be with you.

Olli Hess mallets profoundly changed the way I play the Gong. The best mallets around just got better with the Lite Mallet addition. Imagine your hands were were and the mallets are your feathers!
