The heart is often described as the spiritual center of the body, the seat of our soul, where feelings such as happiness or joy as well as fear or sadness can be felt. The heart can be filled with love, but also with pain. Compassion and trust originate here, the foundations of our human existence.
Heart meditation with gong helps you to find access to yourself in order to perceive all the messages that your heart sends you. Heart meditations often begin by perceiving all your feelings in order to find direct access to your inner core and your true nature. You will then learn how to use the energy of your heart.
Find the path to the heart step by step - with heart meditation with gong
First, get into a comfortable position near your gong where you can concentrate fully on yourself. Close your eyes, concentrate on your inhalation and exhalation and allow your thoughts to calm down so that you can perceive the heart meditation and your feelings in all their fullness.
Step 1 - Be aware of your heart space
Focus your attention on your spiritual heart center - it is located right in the middle of your chest. Feel this area and the space it occupies in your body. Do you perceive feelings such as expansiveness, tightness or excitement? Feel the feelings that arise without judging them. Now imagine a radiant light in your heart. This light can correspond entirely to your individual ideas, regardless of whether you perceive it as white, golden, pink or another color. Perhaps the image of a glowing sphere will also help you.
Step 2 - Let the light into your heart
With each breath, the light becomes more perceptible to you and expands across your chest area or even your entire body. Consciously allow each new inhalation to flow into your heart space. Perhaps you would like to imagine how the light that you already feel in your heart becomes more intense with each breath, literally flowing into you.
Step 3 - Listen to the sounds of the gong with your heart
Now start using your gong for this heart meditation. Strike the gong gently in the area of the outer ring and feel into your heart. Strike it again as soon as the sound subsides. Play the area between the center and the edge of the gong to find out which sound particularly resonates with your heart space. The intense overtones that arise in this area of the gong can help to open your heart.
Once you have found the sound that suits you and your heart today, stay in this position for a while and then move the gong mallet clockwise in a line around the center of the gong. Whenever the sound fades, strike it again to immerse yourself even deeper in meditation with the help of the vibrations.
Step 4 - Let your light shine even brighter
Use the power of sound to make the light in your chest area shine even brighter. You can imagine how the sound flows directly into the center of your chest and supplies you with new energy. Notice how more and more lightness and expansiveness spreads through your heart space. Stay with this visualization for as long as it is good for you.
Step 5 - Invite qualities into your heart
Choose a quality that you particularly want to invite into your life today. This could be love, trust, compassion or harmony, for example. Imagine how this quality flows into your heart space with the help of the sound. Keep doing this until you feel nourished and recharged.
Step 6 - Return slowly
Let your gong slowly fade away. Remain in silence for a few moments to feel the full effect of the heart meditation before opening your eyes and slowly returning to everyday life.
The more often you do heart meditation or heart chakra meditation, the easier it will be for you to find access to your heart and to feel love for yourself, for other people and for life.
Emotions during heart chakra meditation
Human emotions are multifaceted. Don't expect to always feel joy in your heart - all other emotions have their place too. Sometimes you will feel anger, sometimes disappointment, sometimes doubt. Let your emotions speak, don't forbid them. You can acknowledge them and give them space so that you feel lighter afterwards and can find your inner balance again. Being attentive means feeling every emotion in all its fullness in order to find clarity afterwards.
